As my man is wonderful, I decided to whisk him away to a shepherds hut in the middle of the Devon countryside. We stayed in a lovely stone shepherds hut complete with hot tub, which was a bit tricky as it was November. On the way we stopped off to visit Salisbury cathedral and had a very informative look at the Magna Carta. We also visited the lovely village of Clovelly. After a very steep walk through the village we have a large pie meal on the dockside over looking the quay. I was a bit disappointed that the donkeys were having a holiday but it was still beautiful.
We had a nice day in Exeter with lunch by the waterside and bought lots of Christmas presents at the artisan craft shops on the quayside. We tried to visit the beach pools at Ilfracombe but the were unfortunately closed. Good excuse for a return trip.
