Good afternoons,
We set off a bit late this morning which, to be honest, was always going to happen. We thought we’d old school the route and use one of them map thingummybobs. April is driving and doing a sterling job, there have been roads with letters and numbers and white dotted lines and other vehicles and everything.
You find us on the A34 just south of Oxford waiting for the M40 to appear and so far we’ve had one person try to kill us by stopping on a roundabout and a 1 mile tail back because brand new rescue helicopters were parked on the other side of the motorway and the need of Brits to rubber-neck.
Toby is sat in the back enjoying a film on his Hudl and Rob is following us in his van.
We stopped at a services on the M40 and whilst I was there I caught a Pokemon, cute little guy. Apparently there are those that may be jealous.
Toby is most definitely one of them.
So, we carried on up the M42, M6 (Toll) and onto the M6 itself and flew past Manchester. Toby was getting restless so we left the M6 for short while to find a park in Ashton-in-Makerfield to no avail so back on the M6 stopped at another services and this one had a field for a kick about (cue Robs overhead kick) a small bite to eat/drink and we’re off again.
So we left the M6 and wandered up towards Kendal our first stop. Kendal is a very quaint town most of the car parks have height barriers so we were forced to our BritStop (634) which we now find has a pizza place on site which only does my new fave Calzone. No hope of cooking in the van tonight.
Crosswords seem to be the order of the night.
